We're Hiring!



We’re looking for an outgoing and self-motivated design assistant to join our boutique firm. Our company is small and growing rapidly. We’re looking for someone who wants to be involved with all aspects of the business and has an entrepreneurial/self-starter spirit. You’ll be running around taking care of tasks + attending site visits for the most part, but your home base will be at our office in Oakland and we’ll expect you to be there 1-2 days a week. 


  • Feet on the Ground: 

    • Site visits

    • Vendor meetings

    • Showroom visits + pickups

    • Sample ordering

    • Returns

    • Install + photoshoot assistance

  • Design Logistics: 

    • Project measurements

    • Design presentation prep

    • Window treatments

  • General Project Management

  • Administrative & Computer: 

    • Mood board assembly

    • Limited ordering - communicate with ordering lead

    • Materials spreadsheets + spec sheets

    • Limited admin - entering receipts, fielding initial inquiries, organizing sample library, etc


  • Need to have a car (reimbursable miles & gas) 

  • Technically this is part time, but close to full-time and hope to transition you to full-time work as soon as possible. 

  • Taking the lead on projects as project manager (not immediately but would transition to doing this)

  • Familiar using Google Drive programs + Adobe Photoshop is a plus

  • CAD + SketchUp experience isn’t required, but welcome 

  • Experience working for another designer or design firm is a plus


Growth & Responsibility Timeline:

We like our work to be steady and intentional. The person taking on this role will dive deeply into each part of their job and trained thoroughly. Below is a timeline for training, prioritized responsibilities and a growth plan. Of course, if we move faster, your self-starting spirit will be rewarded :-) 

Month 1-2

  • On-boarding

  • Shadowing

  • Errands

  • Familiarity with client work, current and upcoming  

Month 3-4 

  • Continued responsibilities from months 1 + 2

  • Begin project management

  • Vendor meetings

  • Site visits

  • Some creative work like putting together mood boards

  • Sourcing

  • Projects as needed and trained 

Month 5+

  • Refining desired skills

  • Project management lead

  • Discuss passions and path for growth
