Brandon and I just started our newest fixer upper and we’re heading back to Oakland for this one. Let me introduce you to El Ray. El Ray was built in 1895…yes you heard me correctly. It is OLD! So, you can probably imagine how many changes it’s undergone since. This one will be a complete gut job with all new everything starting with a new foundation. We are going to do a full video walk-through once everything has been cleared out but I thought I would give you a sneak peak of what we just got ourselves into before they start on the foundation. And since Halloween is this weekend, it seems appropriate to give you a good fright!

I didn’t include any photos of the actual bedrooms or bathrooms because, well, there’s a lot of “stuff” still in all of them and didn’t feel it necessary to show you all of that. It will be a lot easier to make sense of everything once all of the personal belongings have been cleared out. Right now the house is a 3 bedroom (4 if you count the living room that is serving as a bedroom), 2 bathroom (only 1 working) with a second floor that had started to be converted into a master suite but never got finished. We are going to turn the home into a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom and finish up that second floor master suite. Take a look inside!

You probably think we are insane and you’re probably right. This one’s going to be a toughie but it’s going to be awesome when it’s done. Not to mention it is located a few blocks from some of the best filipino food I’ve ever had – I could eat lumpia for days.

I can’t wait to share more of El Ray with you!
